#31 See a musical in Nairobi.
Have you guys watched the cartoon, Tinga Tinga Tales? We discovered it shortly after Shiloh was born. It’s a really cute series which tells different African stories and proverbs using a popular East African style of art called “tingatinga”. They also teach kids some basic Swahili words in each episode. (I think I might enjoy the cartoons more than Shiloh…) Imagine my joy when I saw that there was a new family musical opening in Nairobi a few months ago based off of Tinga Tinga Tales!
We went the last weekend of the musical and I’m so glad we did. It was wonderful! I wasn’t sure how Shiloh would do sitting still for over an hour, but she was really into it and danced to the music every chance she got. The actors were so talented and did a wonderful job engaging the audience and keeping both the kids and the parents entertained. It was a great afternoon spent together and another wonderful memory made!
Shiloh got to meet “Giraffe”, “Chameleon” and “Tortoise” after the #TingaTingaTales show. (I’m not positive, but I think she was really weirded out by their stage makeup… ) If you are in the Nairobi area, go check this out!! It only runs for two more days. It was so much fun and super cute. We enjoyed it as much if not more than the kids did. Don’t miss out! #thisiskenya #whyilovekenya #mommyhood #familyadventure
