#27 Try a new type of cuisine.
When we first got to Nairobi over a year ago, someone told me about this incredible Afghan family who made traditional Afghan food and then delivered it to people’s homes. The lady raved and raved about how delicious it was.
Fast forward to later this year when The Hub (an incredible shopping mall just a few blocks from our house) opened. Upstairs in the food court was a new restaurant, “Afghan House”. Come to find out, the restaurant is owned by the same family! They started simple out of their home and quickly grew so popular they now have their own restaurant!
We were lucky enough to try it a few weeks ago. I had no idea what to expect, but wow… the flavors. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it was delicious. We got a mixed platter that included several rice dishes, chicken, beef, beans and paneer cheese. So satisfying! The accompanying sauces took already good food to a whole. nother. level. We also sampled some of their delicious homemade baklava which was so flaky and buttery and amazing… I can’t wait to go back here.
